Our 1st Week back in the U.S.

Travelling with 3 small kids suck!!!  The 11 hour (not counting a 90 min delay on the ground) flight from Frankfurt to Dallas was not fun!  Julia (who sat with Jim of course), slept for several hours. But Mia and Emma who sat with me, did not!  Mia did great, she’s such a big girl these days, but Emma was pretty difficult.

When we got to Dallas, we had grandpa, Dawn, Megan, Brandon & April waiting for us!  It was great to see everyone.  The kids recognized them from Skype, so it was fun.
Saturday morning we went to the park by April’s house and let the kids run around before the drive to Austin.  Our plan was to leave after lunch and let the kids take a nap in the car.  That plan did not work out!  The kids didn’t fall asleep until we hit the Austin city limits!  The drive was almost worse than the flight!

But now we’re here and it’s great!  The kids are over the jet lag and are sleeping through the night.  We’re still staying at the hotel until our air shipment gets here (hopefully next week).   The house is great (even if I was freaking out a little the first time we went there).  It’s not a centrally located as our house in Dallas or Dresden, but the more time I spend there, the more I like it.  We put hardwood floors in earlier this week; I bought a fridge, washer and dryer. Now we just need to buy cars.  Auntie Dawn has been here all week helping me with the kids (and letting Jim drive her car to work).
Both Emma & Julia fit in the cart at our local grocery store, how great is that???

All 3 kids started "school" on Monday.  Mia loves it; she didn’t want to go home on Monday afternoon.  It’s taking a little more time for Emma & Julia to get adjusted, but it’s getting better every day.
